Today was a very hectic and cold day here in BMT. The morning started off at 6:30 a.m. with the usual coffee and pancakes to get ready for the days ride. There was suppose to be a group ride starting at 9 a.m. so I told Hoiness that we should hit that up to get some riding in a pack to get ready for our first fast approaching race. Well at 8:30 I was sitting at the place the group ride was starting from, I realized Hoiness had slept in and was not going to make it. On top of that it was a balming 24 degrees with 1.5 inches of snow, but the roads were semi clear. The wind chill was 9 degrees so nobody wanted to ride outside....except me, so I did. I quickly realized it was way too cold to ride into a head wind at this temp so I turned around and had the wind at my back until it warmed up a little. The only problem with that was I was a frikin long ways away when it got warmer lol. So I turned in a 3.5 hour ride.
At 2 p.m I had a triathlon club workout for the Billings Youth Tri Club. We did an hour of hard ass core work. After the core workout I went home to find Hoiness calling me up wanting to ride. Lol. So we went I got back on the bike and went for a 1.5 hour ride with him. We hit some climbs and was coming down whats called Black Otter Trail, and I knew then last part of the the road was torn away due to construction. To my amazement we found a very small compacted dirt path to ride the rest of the way down the hill on, but at the bottom I heard an "Oh shit!" and I watched Hoiness fall on his ass. It was halarious!
New pictures from my ride today of Zimmerman Trail....killer climb! check'em out! http://twitpic.com/photos/nateweston
