End of Training Camp

Hello from Missoula, MT! Me and Hoiness finally arrived back in Montana after a week and a half of training camp in Moab, UT. Overall it was an amazing camp and my new teamates of team GAS are awesome! I got along with everyone and had a great time. The first ride that me and Hoiness took was a mountain bike ride on Slickrock Trail. HUGE MISTAKE! We went to a local bike shop and rented a couple mountain bikes but made the mistake of using road shoes on the course. The result was very painfull as we took alot of falls due to the slickness of the slickrock and our road shoes. It must have been halarious watching us try and make it up these climbs with speedplay cleats on lol.

The rest of the week consisted of just road rides (me and Hoiness are permantly retired from mountain biking lol). The most epic ride of the training camp was climbing the La Sal Mountain Loop. The climb was an average of 15% of grade and over 5,000 feet of climbing. We started at about 3,500ft from Moab and ended at about 8,500ft. It was very cold on the mountain and a very cold decent, but turned out to be a very epic ride. Besides the fact that I wanted to fall over sideways while climbing the mountain, it was very scenic and great experience.

Yersterday we left Moab for Missoula and got lost in Idaho and ended up spending 14 hours in the car which sucked!!! Gratefull to have a bed to sleep in last night at the Mariott, today we are going for a ride and then meeting the team to head to my first race of the season (The Tour of the Frozen Flatlands). I just put an twitter update board on the right side of my blogsite so it always puts my lattest twitter updates for more up to date info. Bye for now.
