19th Birthday

Today is my 19th birthday, and I spent it in Bozeman, MT with my cycling team (team GAS). I pretty much layed around all day preparing for Sunday's state championship. Tonight though, my team took me out to dinner at 18 Miles South of the Border, excellent mexican restaurant. Had a great time and ate lots of food. Thank you very much guys for the great time!!!

I have been away from home for over two weeks now couch hopping with different teamates so I can stay here in Bozeman and get better training in the mountains everyday and to be with my team. I would like to thank everyone who has let me crash on their floor, couch, and/or bed over the past couple of weeks, the Frykmans, Josh, Ben, Jason, and Bill. Also thank you to all who have offered my a place to stay as well, I will probably take you up on that as the summer progresses. I am wrapping up the first half of my racing season this Sunday with the state championship road race. I will then have 4.5 weeks off of racing and just pure training until the second half of my season starts on July 19 at the Tour of the Bitterroot. I will also be heading home for the first time in 2.5 weeks to see family and be at home for a week and a half before I leave for Team Montana U23 training camp in the Big Horn Mountains at 8,500ft. I will be there for a week with my U23 team, then probably be back here in Bozeman for some more epic training and reconing of the Tour de Bozeman stages as it will take place the third week in July.
Mostly I am excited to get home for a week and see my parents, sis, and grandparents. I will update next after I arrive home after the state championship road race.

One last thing, I see that a lot of people have little sayings at the end of their blogs that they post as either inspiration of how they feel. Whatever the case may be, I would like to put two quotes down that I believe in.

"Common men go nowhere, you have to be uncommon!" by Herb Brooks (1980 Team USA Hockey Coach)
"Its not about how hard you can hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward" by Rocky Balboa
